roombas Why aren't robotic lawnmowers more popular?
I bought a robot mower from www.robomower.biz and I've been using it for the past few weeks. We all love Robbie.... we call him Robbie. We have two Roombas that we use indoors. My neighbors are ecstatic about Robbie when he's out mowing on his own. My friends think I should start selling these things but I don't get why they aren't already more popular?
I must have been hiding under a flat rock to have missed this innovation. Thanks for the news flash; I'll check out the site you indicated. I'd LOVE to sit and watch a mower cut my grass!
Irobot Roomba Roomba by iRobot. What are your thoughts about it?
Is it cost effective? Is it practical? Is it durable.
I want to buy it for a late moms day gift.
I have one. I like it.
Te good- It's nice because it goes by itself. I think it picks up the dirt very well and is great for my house where I have carpet and tile- it does both with no problem. And it has these great sensors to keep it in or out of certain places. You can move the sensors as needed. You can also get its own homing base and when it's tired, it gets back on the base and charges.
The bad- it is really noisy and it does get stuck on rugs or under the bed quite often. You really have to take care of it too- clean all the brushes and empty both dirt chambers after every 3 cleans. Sometimes it can be difficult- like it will go over and over one area and completely miss others- I resolve that by picking it up and moving it. And sometimes it can't get itself out of a tight spot, like under the kitchen table and you can hear it banging away under there.
But it is nice to not really have to vacumn anymore!

Question about the irobot roomba?
I was thinking about getting a irobot roomba but most of the rooms in my house have .5 to 1 inch bumps in the door way so I don't know if it can go over that or down it but if it cant then can the roomba have many chargers and just go to the closest one?

A man made hell turns into an earthly inferno as a female inmate in Japan's most notorious maximum-security prison wages a violent bid to survive while taking out as many of her captors as humanly possible. It's called The Island, and it's an inescapable penitentiary populated by the most savage female criminals in all of Japan. But this isn't your typical prison, because once you go in, you never get out alive. Inmate 1316 is about to find out this grim truth the hard way, and she won't take the news lying down. Now, amidst a terrifying world of secret graveyards and mass executions, 1316 will use every weapon at her disposal - including her body - to fight back and make a daring escape. She's already been through hell, so she's got nothing to fear as she hacks, slashes, and blasts her way through the hordes of sadistic guards who would happily defile and dispatch her without a second thought. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Includes:The Golden Coach (1952) French Cancan (1955) Elena and Her Men (1956) The Golden Coach Set in 18th-century South America, The Golden Coach (Le Carrosse D'Or) stars Anna Magnani as an earthy Commedia Del Arte performer. Magnani is lusted after by diplomat Duncan Lamont, who leaves both his job and his mistress to pursue the sexy actress. Also vying for Magnani's favors are a bullfighter and a nobleman. Magnani tries to avert bloodshed by giving away the Golden Coach that had been bestowed upon her by the expansive Lamont. When director Jean Renoir was asked if he intended The Golden Coach to be Pirandellian, what with its linking of reality and theatricality, Renoir responded that his intention was to establish that "life is life and the stage is the stage." Maybe so, but the film's brilliant Technicolor and superb performances easily transcend that mundane entity known as Real Life. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi French Cancan Beautifully photographed, this comedy drama from Jean Renoir chronicles the revival of Paris' most notorious dance as it tells the story of a theater producer who turns a humble washerwoman into a star at the Moulin Rouge. The film is also title Only the French Can. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi Elena and Her Men In the 1950s, French films were considered the ne plus ultra in naughtiness by certain impressionable filmgoers. It was to these movie fans that the American distributor of Jean Renoir's Elena et les Hommes (Elena and the Men) catered when it provocatively retitled the picture Paris Does Strange Things As further grist to the mill for American publicity hacks, the film starred Ingrid Bergman, who had recently returned to Hollywood after her career was nearly ruined by a marital scandal. Actually there was nothing overtly erotic about Paris Does Strange Things. The film was a sweet romantic comedy wherein Bergman plays a poverty-stricken Polish princess, who is wooed by eligible admirers Mel Ferrer and Jean Marais. Will she marry for love, or merely to restore her wealth? The suspense is bearable. Inexpertly cut to 86 minutes for its American showings, Paris Does Strange Things was restored to its full 98 minutes in 1986 and its title reverted to Elena et les Hommes. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
