This 2009 release pretty much picks up where Pantheon's 2006 recording THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW left off; Pantheon remains a band that has more of a sense of craftsmanship than, say, the unforgiving Gorgoroth but aren't melodic enough to be called symphonic black metal. WORLDS I CREATE isn't devoid of mercy, although no one will call it "black metal for people who don't like black metal." And unlike 1349's REVELATIONS OF THE BLACK FLAME, WORLDS I CREATE won't be compared to Blut Aus Nord. Even though THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW and WORLDS I CREATE are a lot alike, there is one non-stylistic difference between the two: THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW is a stronger and slightly more consistent effort. Nonetheless, WORLDS I CREATE is generally decent--not mind-blowing, but generally decent--and Kvebek still has admirable chops as a guitarist.

irobot create projects Is there a type of camera that can find the position of a flashing light?
Is there a camera that can have a line of sight of at least 30 degrees and can get a position relative to an x and y axis or a polar axis of a flashing LED light source? So that information can be sent to a microprocessor or controller which can be used to figure out how the motors will function for my robot project. What I need is a relative angular position of a light source which will determine how my iRobot Create(will buy soon) will move. The robot will function on two motors maybe encoded (will buy soon) that will turn the wheels such that it moves toward the light source.
Any ideas will be helpful.
I think you are going to want a surveillance camera. Some of them will rotate towards a target. Some of them will give you the amount of rotation that the camera does, which you could use to guide your robot. Have fun.

This 23-track collection -- entirely drawn from pre-1966 releases, except for a 1969 single by the Honeys and a 1973 single by American Spring -- doesn't round up all of them, as some were unavailable for contractual reasons. But it's a good anthology of this facet of Wilson's career, with many obscure songs that are difficult to find and have been seldom reissued. As is usually the case for outside production/songwriting ventures by major stars, few of Wilson's non-Beach Boys ventures were hits, and in fact none of the items on this CD were. As is also usually the case in these situations, the material (frequently though not always written or co-written by Wilson) was more lightweight than what was being devised for the figure's principal project, the Beach Boys in Wilson's case. But this disc is still pretty enjoyable, featuring as it does a few genuinely outstanding cuts in which Wilson got to tinker with some production approaches. Foremost among these is Sharon Marie's 1964 Ronettes sound-alike single "Thinkin' Bout You Baby," which has a verse that was reworked with some changes to provide the Beach Boys' 1968 hit "Darlin'." Also of special note is Glen Campbell's 1965 single "Guess I'm Dumb," which has a confessional lyric and orchestral pop/rock production on par with the Beach Boys' own best album tracks of the period. Only slightly below this level is Gary Usher's 1964 single "Sacramento," which actually sounds a little more personal than much of the Beach Boys' output of that year. Brian Wilson himself is heard on the one-off 1964 single by the Survivors, with an A-side ("Pamela Jean") with an identical melody to that used for the Beach Boys' "Car Crazy Cutie," and an instrumental B-side ("After the Game") that's a vague forerunner of the lush instrumentals on Pet Sounds. The other tracks on this compilation are more frivolous, but they do testify to the large influence Phil Spector had on Wilson in the mid-'60s (particularly in the tracks by the Honeys). Other oddities of note are the Little Eva imitation by Rachel & the Revolvers; the 1973 Columbia single by American Spring, the band featuring Marilyn Rovell and Diane Rovell of the Honeys; and the cover of "Vegetables" (from the Beach Boys' Smiley Smile album) by the Laughing Gravy, a pseudonym for Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean. Life in the Russian military is observed in this almost surreal Russian drama that contains strong anti-war sentiments. The film's main theme suggests that we as humans do not have as much control over the course of our lives as we think we do. It is filmed without a plot and minimal dialog. Instead it offers a poetic depiction of brief, unexplained incidents in the soldiers' lives. The audience sees neither the beginning, nor the end of the episode. The purpose is not to explore the men themselves, but rather to evoke a mood of despair and impending doom. To get the film produced, filmmakers Hussein Erkenov, Yuri Polyakov, and Vladimir Golodov had to create two fake scripts in addition to the real one. The Command was Warner Bros.' first Technicolor release. Guy Madison, then extremely popular with western fans by virtue of the TVer Wild Bill Hickok, heads the cast as Army medical captain McClaw. When a cavalry commander is killed, McClaw, the next-highest-ranking officer, is forced to assume command, even though his combat experience is practically nil. Overcoming the resentment of the men under his command, McClaw is able to stem an Indian attack and rescue a wagon train--not through any sort of brilliant strategy, but by improvising as he goes along. Harvey Lembeck's comic-relief role as a grousing trooper was later parodied by Billy Crystal in Mr. Saturday Night (alas, this sequence was left on the cutting room floor when Crystal's film hit the screens). MGM had a tendency to overglamorize the sort of rough-hewn film fare that Warner Bros. offered to its public without adornments. Such was the case of Flight Command. Instead of Warners' streetwise James Cagney, the MGM film stars pretty-boy Robert Taylor as the obligatory hotshot cadet who chafes at the authority and discipline of a naval flight squadron. While Warners might have done without a romantic subplot, MGM contrives to have Taylor fall for the wife (Ruth Hussey) of squad commander Walter Pidgeon. And whereas Warners would have told this story compactly in 90 minutes, MGM lolls around for nearly two hours before Taylor's anticipated redemption and "make good" scene. Set in the years leading up to the Civil War and its outbreak, Dark Command tells a fictionalized version of the story of William Clarke Quantrill, the schoolteacher-turned-renegade, whose raids -- ostensibly on behalf of the Confederacy -- turned Kansas into a charnel house. John Wayne plays Bob Setton, a young Texan who arrives in Lawrence, KS, in 1859 on his way west, partnered with George "Gabby" Hayes. He meets Marie McCloud (Claire Trevor) and her younger brother, Fletch (Roy Rogers), and takes a liking to them, especially Marie. His only competition for her is William Cantrell (Walter Pidgeon), the local schoolteacher, who has big ambitions in life. He is nominated for town marshal and seems a shoo-in, especially as his only rival is Bob Setton, who admits he knows nothing about the law and can't even read, but Setton wins with his honest, unpretentious speech. At the time, Kansas is riven by strife, as settlers from the North opposed to slavery and those from the South supporting it pour into the territory, and Setton has his hands full. His most difficult personal moment comes when he must arrest Fletch for shooting an anti-slavery farmer (Trevor Bardette) to death. Cantrell leads a campaign of terror against the jury, however, which finds the young man not guilty just as the Civil War breaks out. In the months that follow, Setton and his posse go after the raiders who are stealing and destroying huge amounts of property in Kansas on behalf of the Confederacy. He suspects Cantrell is their leader, but can't prove it, and has to tread carefully. As the raids worsen, and the war drags on -- even Marie's pro-Confederacy banker father is murdered during a run on his bank -- their conflict comes to a violent end as Cantrell launches an attack on Lawrence, vowing to destroy the town, with only Bob Setton and Cantrell's own mother (Marjorie Main) standing in his way. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi

irobot create How do I implement Color Detection to my Robot?
Is there anyway for me to program my robot to somewhat accurately detect different colors, using limited sensors?
I have two photoresistors, two IR distance sensors, and a servo. The robot I am using is an iRobot Create. I'm trying to differentiate between blue and yellow plastic eggs (and the wall as well.) I know the photoresistor returns slightly different values for these two, but is there anyway to be more precise and accurately define these two colors as different?
Color sensing is usually done with three colored LEDs (red, blue, green) and a CdS photocell. Different color targets reflect the different light colors differently, and the photocell sees different light intensity. The LEDs are turned on one at a time and each time the resistance of the photocell is measured.

This 2009 release pretty much picks up where Pantheon's 2006 recording THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW left off; Pantheon remains a band that has more of a sense of craftsmanship than, say, the unforgiving Gorgoroth but aren't melodic enough to be called symphonic black metal. WORLDS I CREATE isn't devoid of mercy, although no one will call it "black metal for people who don't like black metal." And unlike 1349's REVELATIONS OF THE BLACK FLAME, WORLDS I CREATE won't be compared to Blut Aus Nord. Even though THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW and WORLDS I CREATE are a lot alike, there is one non-stylistic difference between the two: THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW is a stronger and slightly more consistent effort. Nonetheless, WORLDS I CREATE is generally decent--not mind-blowing, but generally decent--and Kvebek still has admirable chops as a guitarist.

What is the name of this film?
Really hope someone can help me. The film is about a man/inventor who creates a talking security system for his house (he calls it by a female name). When he speaks to the system she is nice, however when the wife speaks to her, she is nasty and if I remember rightly (which I doubt) the system locks the house and takes over. Everyone I've asked has suggested iRobot but I know its not that film. I know it's really far out but it's been driving me and my sister mad over the weekend. Thanks!
