The documentary Hacking Democracy looks at the controversial topic of computer voting. In addition to analyzing how computer-assisted voting has been problematic in some elections, the filmmakers follow activist Bev Harris as she attempts to make Diebold, a company that creates the voting machines, accountable for errors. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

The horror comedy Stupid Teenagers Must Die tells the story of a group of teens, each representing a familiar horror movie stereotype, gathering to perform a s?ance. Soon enough, a wild man is on the loose hacking them up one by one. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

This lurid meat-clever murder movie tells the story of a former mental patient accused of hacking up beautiful women, all of whom were his former lovers. The promos of the film were said to be more inspired than the picture itself. Filmmakers glorified in the gory scenes saying the film was filmed in "Violent Vision"; while television commercials offered $1,000 to the family's of viewers who dropped dead of fright, as well as claiming that many scenes were too violent to show on the commercials. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
A brilliant hacker inadvertently sets the wheels of World War III into motion after hacking into a restricted online gaming network and learning of a national defense system designed to identify fledgling terrorist cells in this belated sequel to the popular 1982 thriller. There isn't a system on the planet that Will Farmer (Matt Lanter) can't hack into with a little work, so when he manages to breach the security of a restricted online gaming network known as R.I.P.L.E.Y., he's convinced that his skills are still as sharp as ever. But what Matt hasn't realized is that R.I.P.L.E.Y. is actually a highly classified government defense system, and he's just become its next target. Now the system knows his identity, and his entire hometown faces the threat of an automated military response. In order to clear his name, Matt will have to beat the computer at its own game. The game turns deadly, however, when R.I.P.L.E.Y. suddenly raises the stakes, threatening Armageddon in a time when the world is already dangerously unstable. With no time left to lose before the missiles start to fly, Matt must now use his formidable hacking skills to save the world from the government's own hopelessly flawed doomsday device. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Trent Haaga and Brandy Little star as married couple Charles and Deborah in this gory horror film from writer/director John Keeyes. While appearing to be an average, mild-mannered American husband and wife, behind closed doors Charles and Deborah are a malicious serial-killing duo, a gruesome fact that their unsuspecting neighbors find out a bit too late. But after hacking up local strangers, the pair's marital bond begins to weaken, and before long, Charles and Deborah are each looking to the other for their next victim. Released straight-to-video in 2004, Suburban Nightmare also stars Hayden Tweedie. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
The writers and director of the original Feast follow the horror from the dive bar of the first film to a nearby town as the flesh-eating beasts prepare to dine on the unsuspecting locals before dashing off to the next well-populated desert buffet. The survivors of the initial attack have lived to see another day, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll make it through another night. Upon joining-up a desperate band of locals that include an all-girl biker gang and a tag team of fearless luchadors, the battle-weary survivors brace themselves for another bloody round of flesh-ripping, limb-hacking mayhem. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Jenny Neumann, star of the cult/trash classic Mistress of the Apes, stars in this slasher movie from director John D. Lamond. A little girl named Cathy tries to keep her mother from making out with a man while driving one day, and she inadvertently causes her mother's death in the ensuing crash. Sixteen years later, Cathy is now named Helen and has become a psychotic actress. Since her mother died with a shard of glass in her throat, Helen begins hacking through the cast of her new play, "Comedy of Blood," in similar fashion. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi
This cheap, direct-to-video gorefest owes what little inspiration it can muster to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The plot involves a cluster of bad actors on a weekend camping trip who are set upon by a band of cannibalistic crackers hoping to stock up on fresh human carcasses in preparation for a long winter. To this end, the deformed yokels (one of whom sports a jet pilot's headgear for some unexplained reason) begin hacking, sawing and bludgeoning away at the youths with a variety of farm implements. Surprisingly, chainsaws do not come into play, although the omission was more likely a budgetary constraint than an attempt to avoid outright plagiarism. Little more than a prolonged excuse to sling blood and entrails across the screen, this amateurish effort is enlivened only slightly by a deranged performance by redneck comic Richard Marcus, whose hideously incoherent babbling should give viewers some indication of the filmmakers' general state of mind. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi
Matt Groening's cult hit series Futurama takes its killer wit to DVD with this full length movie consisting of a brand new story with all new animation and the complete, original voice cast. As the crew of Planet Express prepares for Xmas 3007, a race of evil, nudist, internet scammers launches an attack on Earth, discovering the secret of time travel tattooed on Fry's butt. Using their sinister hacking skills to control Bender, the aliens seize control of the robot and send him back in time to loot ancient Earth of its treasures. The crew encounter true love, a hostile takeover, and Al Gore before their race against time to save the world as they know it is over. Futurama: Bender's Big Score also features guest voice-appearances by actors and comedians like Sarah Silverman, Mark Hamill, and Coolio. ~ Cammila Albertson, Rovi
This Aussie/Western variation on the Psycho formula is set in the tiny Outback town of Gippsland in the 1890s, where travelers visiting a remote inn are being bumped off by a mysterious interloper. After a perfectly dreary hour or so, wily lawman Alex Cord solves the mystery that somehow managed to befuddle the rest of the cast -- it seems crackpot innkeeper Dame Judith Anderson and her husband have never quite recovered from the trauma of seeing their children killed by escaped convicts who once invaded their home, and they have been busily hacking up their guests ever since. The setting provides for some pleasant location photography and gives the film a unique look and feel, but the story is completely bogged down by dull pacing and lackluster performances -- except for Anderson, who is always a treat to watch, even when she's given little to work with. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi
A sexually dysfunctional serial killer stalks a group of hard-partying teens, hacking, slashing, and chopping everyone in his path until only the defiant final girl is left in this low-budget slasher film. When it comes to sexual release, murder is the only thing that gets Big Stevie off. Fortunately for him, a group of fresh-faced teens have just arrived at a remote cabin in the woods. With each new victim, Big Stevie's psychosis intensifies, and before long only pretty survivor Aggie is left. Should clever Aggie fail to escape the clutches of this perverted homicidal maniac, she too will become just another victim of his murderous sexual impulses. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Rumored and anticipated for years, the two biggest icons of the slasher genre finally meet in Freddy Vs. Jason, the eighth entry in the Nightmare on Elm Street saga and the 11th film in the Friday the 13th series, though with Jason X taking place in the future, it should be noted that the events of this film take place after the ninth film Jason Goes to Hell. And it is hell where Freddy Kreuger (Robert Englund) and Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, donning the hockey mask for the first time in a controversial snub against series veteran Kane Hodder) finally become acquainted. Banished there for eternity, Freddy devises a plan to manipulate Jason into continuing his work, hacking up the teenagers of Elm Street. All goes well at first until Jason realizes he's been duped by "the dream master" and is none too pleased. Coaxed by surviving teenagers Will (Jason Ritter), Lori (Monica Keena), and Kia (Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland), Jason and Freddy descend upon Crystal Lake for a mano a mano battle royal. Helmed by Hong Kong director Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky, The Bride With the White Hair), Freddy Vs. Jason features the director of the first Friday film, Sean S. Cunningham serving as producer. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
What if virtual reality wasn't just for fun, but was being used to imprison you? That's the dilemma that faces mild-mannered computer jockey Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves) in The Matrix. It's the year 1999, and Anderson (hacker alias: Neo) works in a cubicle, manning a computer and doing a little hacking on the side. It's through this latter activity that Thomas makes the acquaintance of Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who has some interesting news for Mr. Anderson -- none of what's going on around him is real. The year is actually closer to 2199, and it seems Thomas, like most people, is a victim of The Matrix, a massive artificial intelligence system that has tapped into people's minds and created the illusion of a real world, while using their brains and bodies for energy, tossing them away like spent batteries when they're through. Morpheus, however, is convinced Neo is "The One" who can crack open The Matrix and bring his people to both physical and psychological freedom. The Matrix is the second feature film from the sibling writer/director team of Andy Wachowski and Larry Wachowski, who made an impressive debut with the stylish erotic crime thriller Bound. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This 2009 release pretty much picks up where Pantheon's 2006 recording THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW left off; Pantheon remains a band that has more of a sense of craftsmanship than, say, the unforgiving Gorgoroth but aren't melodic enough to be called symphonic black metal. WORLDS I CREATE isn't devoid of mercy, although no one will call it "black metal for people who don't like black metal." And unlike 1349's REVELATIONS OF THE BLACK FLAME, WORLDS I CREATE won't be compared to Blut Aus Nord. Even though THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW and WORLDS I CREATE are a lot alike, there is one non-stylistic difference between the two: THE WANDERER AND HIS SHADOW is a stronger and slightly more consistent effort. Nonetheless, WORLDS I CREATE is generally decent--not mind-blowing, but generally decent--and Kvebek still has admirable chops as a guitarist.

irobot does not honor its warranties on It's Dirt Dog robotic cleaner?
What options do I have or is it
a case of buyer beware and I am SOL
I purchased a brand new irobot dirt dog robotic cleaner on Ebay. Seems to work for a while then stops dead in it's tracks after 10-15mins for no reason. If I power it off, then on. it works for another 10-15 mins and stops again. The battery is fully charged and the machine was well cleaned but that did not fix this problem. Could there be an internal timer or a case of thermal overload? or Gremlins
I spoke with irobot Tech service and tried all they advised to do but it did not take care of it
I asked if they could fix it under the warrantee but they refused because the Ebay seller was not on their authorised sellers list and suggested I contact the seller However the seller
has a 7 day return policy which I have exceeded by 2 weeks so no help there
Quess Irobot has gone to the dogs
Can you help me out on this??
Maybe I should send this and your replies to their PR Dept
Thanks
Well, to be honest, I can see this from the side of iRobot. If they aren't an authorized dealer how can they know: A.) if its a real Dirt Dog and not a knock off. and B.) If the ebay seller didn't tamper with the unit.
The best I can tell you is to ask iRobot what their repair costs are for units out of warranty. iRobot would honor the warranty but since, as they said, it didn't come from a licensed dealer your out of luck.

I just got my "old" 400 series Roomba out of the closet and replaced brushes, and cleaned it up a bit. I charged it and the battery did not hold the charge so I've sent my hubby to Target to get a replacement battery and an additional Roomba since we live in a bigger house now.
Browsing online, I see there is now a a 500 series Roomba. It's much more expensive than the original 400. Is it really worth the extra money? Is it that much better than the 400 series?
Which Roomba is best and why? Please be specific. I appreciate info from experienced users.
I just bought a refurbished Roomba iRobot on Overstock.com. The have several of them and customer reviews rave. It was only $150 With 3 dollar shipping!). Haven't gotten it yet though but I thought it was a steal.
This brush pack includes 3 brush types for your Roomba vacuum cleaner. The brushes are compatible with 500 Series Roomba vacuums with red or green cleaning heads.
This robotic vacuum cleaner features a cleaning head that automatically adjusts to carpet or hard floor to remove dirt, dust and pet hair. 2 interchangeable cleaning bins allow for everyday or heavy-duty vacuuming.
Sit back and let Roomba take care of the vacuuming for you. This robotic bagless vacuum cleaner features an on-board scheduling system that can accommodate up to 7 cleaning times per week, and can clean up to 4 rooms on a single charge.
With an intelligent cleaning system and Dirt Detect technology, this robotic vacuum navigates around furniture and vacuums along walls and in corners for thorough cleaning. 2 virtual wall units keep the vacuum within a desired space for enhanced performance.
This brand new battery compatible with all 500 series Roomba FloorVac models. Greater useful life than original Roomba batteries. Compatible with the following models:500 510 530 532 535 540 550 560 562 570 580 700 760 770 780 R3 80501 iRobot Roomba 610 Professional Series
If your Roomba isn't cleaning as well as it used to, it may be time to change the brushes. This kit contains multiples of all brushes used in the Roomba 500 series, including the 510 and 532.
