Ummm... I was asking how much they cost, not how much you got it for.

robo vacuum how long before every home has it's own robot?
i'm disabled and could really use one for cleaning and heavy lifting around the house .. like moving the couch, lifting TV, moving the fridge, etc
i've seen on youtube that they're making great strides in robotics, mainly for the military at this point .. and toys, gadgets, etc ... robo-vacuum , remote controlled lawnmowers, etc
I don't think the type of robot you are wanting is on the horizon. It would take some significant scientific leaps forward to make a "smart" compact strong mobile machine that would be reliable and within the price range of an individual rather than a corporation or the military.
We need actuators that can replace muscle. We need a fuel cell or equivalent that is small light inexpensive and non-polluting as well as fuel that is affordable. We need firmware that is reliable. One can imagine the lawsuit if the robot dropped something on someone, or knocked someone down some stairs or many other things. Actually I expect we will have cars that drive themselves before the type of robot you are talking about and I don't see that happening soon.
